Congregational Update

Dear saints of Our Redeemer,

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

As of [April 3rd], the Board of Trustees has extended the suspension of services and gatherings of any kind at Our Redeemer through April 30th. That date was chosen based on the most recent Wahoo press release titled “Wahoo Board of Health Order No. 20-01” (published March 20). This was an easy decision insofar as we are keeping in mind the wellbeing of all of our members and our families in preventing any one of us from being exposed to the Coronavirus; however, we grieve the fact that we cannot meet in-person, especially as Holy Week is upon us. Yet, as Christians we do not lose hope, and though we are without Christ’s absolution and the Sacrament of His body and blood, we are not without His Word. With that, I again encourage you to be in the Word and in fervent prayer daily.

For the past two weeks, I have been able to produce and post to our website daily, audio devotions along with recordings of Sunday services and our final Wednesday Lenten Service. I plan to continue these daily devotions and recorded services for Holy Week and beyond. For those of you who are able, you can find these on our website: http://www.OurRedeemerWahoo.org

We want to thank those of you who have remained faithful with your offerings. Though some special circumstances actually helped us to exceed our monthly financial goal for March, we otherwise received offerings from very few members. We know that this may be a financially-challenging time for many of our members. We also know that we need offerings in order to pay our bills. We have signed up with Vanco Payment Solutions to provide an online-giving option, which is now available on our website. Otherwise, you may drop off or mail in your offering to our church mailbox. Please do what you can to support our congregation.

Also, please do not hesitate to call/text me for any reason at (626) 419-7614.

Let us pray. Gracious Father, You have assured us that we shall receive strength for every day of our lives. Grant us Your servants both the desire and the will to spend our days as obedient children, trusting in Your goodness and remembering with thankfulness Your mercies, which are new every morning; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Peace in Christ,
Pastor Courie & the Board of Trustees
